What To Know Before You Call

Hiring a tree service is a big decision. Here's what to expect when you work with Appalachian Tree Service — and what to look for in any tree company.

Our Process: From First Call to Clean Yard

1

You Call or Submit a Form

Reach us at (404) 409-9926 or through our online form. We'll ask about your trees, your concerns, and schedule a time to visit.

2

Free On-Site Estimate

We come to your property, assess the trees in person, discuss options, and provide a written estimate. No pressure, no obligation.

3

Scheduling

Once you approve the estimate, we schedule the work at a time that works for you. We maintain constant communication throughout.

4

The Work

Our climber ascends the tree with professional gear. Limbs and sections are removed strategically and lowered with ropes when near structures.

5

Hand-Carried Cleanup

Every log and branch is carried out by hand. We don't drag debris across your lawn or use machinery that damages your yard.

6

Dump Trailer Removal

All debris is loaded into our dump trailer and hauled away. We do a final walk-through to make sure your property is spotless.

What Makes Us Different

Climber-Led, Not Machine-Driven

We don't use bucket trucks, cranes, or bobcats. Our climber does the work from within the tree using ropes and professional gear.

Hand-Carried Cleanup

No dragging logs across your lawn. No skid steers tearing up your yard. Every piece is carried out by hand.

Property-Conscious

We respect your lawn, landscaping, fences, driveway, and home. We treat your property like it's our own.

Honest Communication

We maintain constant contact from estimate to completion. No surprises, no hidden fees, no pressure tactics.

A Few Things to Know Upfront

  • $500 minimum — Our minimum job size is $500. This ensures we can provide the level of care and attention your property deserves.
  • Service radius — We base our pricing on a 45-minute drive time from our location in Kennesaw. Properties beyond that range may have an additional travel charge.
  • Stump grinding — We partner with a trusted specialist for stump grinding. It's a separate service and can be coordinated as part of your project.

Red Flags When Hiring a Tree Service

  • No proof of insurance (ask for a certificate of insurance — both liability AND workers' comp)
  • Door-to-door solicitation or "we're in the neighborhood" pitches
  • Pressure to decide immediately or "today only" pricing
  • No written estimate or contract
  • Recommending tree topping (this damages trees and is never appropriate)
  • Asking for full payment upfront before work begins
  • No business license, no reviews, no verifiable address

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be home during the work?

Not necessarily. As long as we have access to the tree and a clear plan, we can complete the work while you're away. We'll communicate before, during, and after.

How long does tree removal take?

Most single-tree removals are completed in one day. Larger or more complex jobs may take two days. We'll give you a timeline during the estimate.

Do you grind stumps?

We partner with a trusted stump grinding specialist. We can coordinate stump grinding as part of your project if needed.

Are you insured?

Yes — fully insured with both general liability and workers' compensation coverage. We're happy to provide a certificate of insurance upon request.

What about the wood — can I keep it?

Absolutely. If you want us to leave firewood-length rounds or specific pieces, just let us know. Otherwise, we haul everything away.

Do you offer financing?

We're in the process of setting up Affirm financing. Check our Financing page for updates, or ask us about payment options.
