Authority to check
City of Kennesaw Public Works.
A City tree-cutting permit is required before removing a residential tree 5 inches DBH or larger. The current City application states a $25 permit fee. Work in the Historic District also requires Historic Preservation Commission review and an additional $50 fee.
Boundary check: A Kennesaw mailing address does not by itself prove the property is inside City limits. Confirm the boundary and whether the property is in the Historic District.
Special circumstances to confirm
- The emergency exception applies to government, emergency or utility crews acting to address an immediate hazard or restore service, with notice to the Director within 24 hours; it is not a blanket private-residential hazard exemption.
- Submit the application to Public Works by email, fax, mail or in person.
