Pine Trees and Sandy Springs Homes: A Common Problem

Sandy Springs has a mix of townhomes, condos, and single-family homes — many with tall pine trees growing right up against the structure. How We Pruned for Clearance

Our climber went up and pruned the pines back to create several feet of clearance between the branches and the townhome. We removed all the lower branches that were hanging over the fence, the backyard, and the roofline.

The result: no more branches touching the building, significantly less debris falling into the gutters and yard, and the critter highway is gone. The homeowner can actually enjoy the backyard again without pine straw covering everything.

We did this with zero damage to the fence, the astroturf, the fire pit, or the roof. Impeccable cleanup — the backyard looked better than before we showed up.

Pine Pruning Best Practices

Pine trees respond well to pruning when it is done correctly. We remove lower branches (called crown raising) and thin the canopy to reduce wind resistance and debris drop. We never top pines — that kills them.
